CURRENT ACADEMIC ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Prof. Jaya Vasudevan is currently Professor at the Manipal Law School and is associated with Centre for Post Graduate Studies. Before joining MAHE, she had been Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for Foreign and International Private and Business Law, the Heidelberg University and the Max Planck Institute for Comparative & International Private Law, Hamburg, Germany. She holds Ph. D from the University of Delhi in International Commercial Arbitration Law. She has 20 years of experience in teaching and research at various institutions, including the Indian Council of Arbitration (ICA), the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry-FICCI; Faculty of Law, the University of Delhi, Indian Law Institute, New Delhi; Heidelberg University, Germany, TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi, and Hidayatullah National law School. Broader areas of her research work include Corporate & Business Law, wherein she has also been involved in designing courses for Masters and Ph. D programmes. Her teaching, as well as recent research, has been in the field of International Trade Law, including Dispute Resolution Laws & Conflict Management in Business, with a special focus on Commercial & Investment Arbitration Law. She is an active member of various widely regarded professional bodies & arbitral institutions in Europe. Currently, she focuses on studying new forms of interdisciplinary cooperation in International Business Law, unfolding the contemporary challenges to sustainability in global trade. Her recent research includes the GST law and Indirect Taxation and Comparative Law of International Commercial Arbitration in Europe and Asia.
