Dr. Meenal A Francis

With the scholarly specialization in the field of cell and molecular biology, particularly studying the physiology of pancreatic β-cells, the laboratory has extended its focus to gaining deeper understanding of β-cells in terms of development, disease and therapeutic translations. The lab encourages students to gain knowledge in the subject and provides hands on training in establishing disease models, deciphering relative assays, exploring and identifying newer modes of mitigating diseased states. With the support of intra and extra mural funding, the laboratory facilitates its studies via guiding students through fellowship programs, short and long-term project work and internships.
