Epigenetic Studies in Cancer

Life Sciences

Though cancer has long been known to be a disease of cell caused by genetic alterations, focus has moved towards possible cause and effects of epigenetic changes that influence such alterations leading to what is referred to as the hallmarks of cancer. Efforts are underway to analyse and characterize epigenetic changes in cancers such as oral cancer, cervical cancer and breast cancer, which can provide clues for the early diagnosis, prognosis and possible therapy.
