It was a great experience for my batchmates and me to be in the pioneering class of MMMC. We felt very welcome in Manipal as the surroundings were peaceful and conducive for our studies (including extra-curriculars!), and we had the privilege of making Charaka Hostel our home for 2.5 years, the only hostel with solar-powered water heater at the time! We were taught by legends of Manipal (including our very own Walking Gray’s) and a cohort of enthusiastic and knowledgeable lecturers who ensured our basic sciences were up to the mark. Having an assigned mentor (thanks Madam Rajini!) allowed for a smooth transition to life as undergrads in medical school.

MMMC for me was a place of wonder and endless possibilities. It gave me the chance to pursue the career of my dreams, make lasting friendships and meet the love of my life in the process! The lecturers were par excellence and provided us the skills to not only become good doctors, but better human beings. All this within a tranquil and conducive environment that allowed me to thrive academically, socially and professionally.

I graduated as the pioneer batch of MMMC and I consider this an honour. MMMC has given me the opportunity of a lifetime. It has inspired me to strive for what I have achieved in my career today. Participating and witnessing the creation of MMMC and its subsequent evolution to become a top rate state-of-the-art facility with a diverse race and culture was indeed an exhilarating experience. It is now widely recognized as a centre of curriculum excellence both in international as well as national platforms Until today I remain inspired by the dedicated lecturers of MMMC. Therefore I am delighted at the opportunity to be a lecturer for the current graduates of MMMC.

Malacca Manipal Medical College(MMMC) is a place which carved my career and personality. Originating from a small village in Malacca, the only Indian family in Malay village, surrounded by paddy field and oil palm plantation ,I became well known Internal Medicine Physician in Malaysia . MMMC is an excellent place to mould future medical practitioners towards healthy nation.

From the highly dedicated pre-clinical faculty to inspiring surgeons, these gurus nurtured me with deep rooted basic science knowledge coupled with vast clinical exposure and instilled principles of medicine, which has formed the firm foundation I stand on today. The MMMC experience helped me build character and learn humility. I am truly indebted and can only hope the future manipalites share the same journey.
