Faculty members and research scholars from the Manipal Institute of Virology (MIV), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), participated in the 2nd International Conference on Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases (iCER-ID 2026), held on 6–7 August 2026 at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The MIV delegation comprised Dr Piya Paul Mudgal, Additional Professor, MIV, MAHE and Dr Sudheesh N, Assistant Professor, MIV, MAHE, along with research scholars Mr Amal George and Ms Devasmita Dutta. The conference brought together researchers, clinicians, academicians, and experts working in the field of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, providing a platform for scientific exchange and discussion on contemporary challenges in infectious disease research.
Participation in iCER-ID 2026 provided an opportunity for the MIV team to connect with researchers, exchange scientific knowledge, explore emerging approaches, and gain insights into advances in infectious disease research. Such platforms help strengthen collaborations and foster interdisciplinary approaches to understanding, preventing, and managing infectious diseases.
