The pre-conference workshops of VIROGLOBAL 2026, held on April 15th, set an engaging and hands-on start to the conference, bringing together researchers to explore emerging technologies in virology.
Two specialized workshops featured Genome Editing using CRISPR-Cas9, led by Dr. Shyam Sundar Nandi, Scientist E/ Deputy Director, Division of Biotechnology and his team from ICMR-NIV Mumbai Unit, and Organoids & 3D Cell Culture, with expert sessions by Dr. Shibu Chameettachal, Associate Professor (Research), KMC Manipal and Dr. Ankur Gautam, Lab Services, Merck Life Sciences.
From precision genome editing to advanced 3D models for studying viral infections, the workshops combined theoretical insights with practical exposure, empowering participants with approaches shaping the future of virology.
