VIROGLOBAL 2026, jointly organised by the Manipal Institute of Virology (MIV) and ICMR–National Institute of Virology (ICMR-NIV), brought together experts, researchers, and professionals from across the virology community to share knowledge, research, and emerging perspectives in viral diseases and global health.
The conference was inaugurated on 18 April 2026 with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by addresses from Dr. Chiranjay Mukhopadhyay, Director, MIV, Dr. Naveen Kumar, Director, ICMR-NIV, and Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor, MAHE. The VIROGLOBAL 2026 Abstract Book was also unveiled by Dr. Sharath K. Rao, Pro Vice Chancellor, MAHE and Dr. Nivedita Gupta, Scientist G & Head, Communicable Disease Division, ICMR- New Delhi.
The event provided a valuable platform for scientific exchange, collaboration, and discussion on advances in virology and their impact on global health.
