Overview

Course description:

The fellowship is a one-year course which aims at providing comprehensive and advanced training to ENT surgeons in various cases related to Otology and Rhinology, including epidemiology, evaluation, management, surveillance, and related research. This program is a platform for young ENT surgeons to improve their surgical skills in open and endoscopic / microscopic procedures along with enhancing their capabilities in academic and research methods. The course will be conducted in Kasturba Medical College Manipal, MAHE (First and last 4 months) and at MCV Memorial ENT Trust Hospital, Pollachi and Coimbatore (4 months).

 

Focus:

The course encourages the student to sharpen clinical skills by thorough evaluation of the patients in the out-patient clinic and its procedure rooms. These students will perform various procedures in the temporal bone laboratory under supervision. In addition, they will be allowed to observe, assist and later perform surgical procedures under supervision. The fellow will be actively involved in pre-operative as well as post-operative assessment of the in-patients. They will also participate in academic programs and in research activities. 

 

Career prospects:

With sharpened clinical and surgical skills in the field of otology and rhinology, the ENT surgeon will have better job prospects in both private and institutional practice.

 

Eligibility criteria:

Essential: M.S/ DNB degree in ENT with a minimum of one-year post-PG surgical experience

Desirable: Research activities and publications in peer-reviewed journals

 

Admission process:

Eligible candidate intending to join the course will apply online ( apply@manipal.edu ) through the website of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), a deemed to be University. Shortlisted candidates based on their curriculum vitae will be asked to appear for an online interview. Selected candidate will be asked to join within a specified period. Fee structure: General (INR)- One installment of Rs 900000 on admission. Foreign/NRI (USD)- One installment of USD 14100 on admission. The candidate will receive a stipend of Rs. 65000/ month during the course.
