Current Academic Role & Responsibilities
Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy students, including B.Pharm and M.Pharm programmes, in subjects related to Pharmacognosy, Phytochemistry, Herbal Drug Technology, Medicinal Plant Biotechnology, and Quality Control of Herbal Drugs. Guiding students in laboratory practicals, project work, seminars, dissertations, and research-oriented learning activities. Supervising and mentoring PhD scholars as a recognized research guide in the area of Pharmacognosy and Medicinal Plant Research. Conducting research on herbal drugs, medicinal plants, phytochemical screening, pharmacological evaluation, standardization of herbal extracts, and development of polyherbal formulations.
Publishing research articles and review papers in national and international journals related to natural products, ethnopharmacology, herbal medicine, and pharmaceutical sciences. Applying for and managing research grants from government and private funding agencies. Organizing workshops, seminars, conferences, and academic training programmes for students and faculty members. Participating in ISO audits and contributing to institutional quality assurance, documentation, compliance, and accreditation-related activities.
Serving as Sports Advisor of Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and promoting student participation in sports, fitness, and extracurricular activities. Contributing as a Core Committee Member in the Manipal Marathon by assisting in planning, coordination, organization, and execution of marathon-related activities. Promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and encouraging innovation in medicinal plant biotechnology and herbal drug research.
