Current Academic Role & Responsibilities
In the Department of Physiology, academic responsibilities include taking MBBS theory classes, conducting small group teaching sessions, and handling practical classes to facilitate effective learning and understanding among undergraduate medical students. Active participation in competency-based medical education is ensured through interactive teaching methods and student-centered learning approaches. Responsibilities also include preparing and setting theory and practical examination questions for university examinations, sessional examinations, and Continuous Assessment (CA).
Additional duties involve invigilating theory examinations, coordinating and conducting practical examinations, and assessing students through viva-voce examinations to ensure fair and comprehensive evaluation of academic performance. Mentoring assigned MBBS students is an important responsibility, which includes providing academic guidance, monitoring student progress, offering counseling and support, and encouraging professional development and overall well-being of students throughout the course. Academic activities for postgraduate students include conducting discussion classes for MD and MSc students in Physiology, guiding seminars, and facilitating journal presentations to enhance analytical thinking, subject knowledge, and research aptitude among postgraduate learners.
Responsibilities also include mentoring postgraduate research projects by guiding students in topic selection, study planning, research methodology, data interpretation, thesis preparation, and presentation of research work in accordance with academic and institutional guidelines.
