Dr. Sushmitha Ramona Karkada

Currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing at the Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, where I am responsible for delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses, facilitating clinical, simulation-based, and interprofessional learning, and contributing to curriculum development and instructional design. I mentor students and guide dissertation and thesis work, supporting their academic and professional growth. In my role as Research Coordinator for postgraduate programs, I lead research mentoring initiatives and ensure the quality and timely completion of student research.

As a recognized PhD Supervisor and a member of the Doctoral Advisory Committee, I supervise doctoral scholars and provide continuous academic guidance to support high-quality research outcomes. I also serve as a Scientific Member of the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC-2), where I review research protocols and ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards. Additionally, I contribute as faculty in the FAIMER program, coordinate Faculty Development Programs to strengthen teaching and research capacity, and actively engage as a peer reviewer for international journals, thereby contributing to the advancement of evidence-based nursing practice and research.
