Dr. Shweta Deshpande

Bio:
Shweta Deshpande is Assistant Professor of French at the Department of Languages, Manipal Institute of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts, Manipal Academy of Higher Education where she teaches French, and Francophone literatures and cultures. She holds a Ph.D. in French from the City University of New York (CUNY). Her doctoral research focused on the Indian diaspora in mainland France through the lens of Indian-descent Francophone writers. Her broader research interests include literary expression in French from India, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean, Diaspora and Migration, and Translation Studies.
