Dr Shreelaxmi Prashanth

I have more than 12 years of teaching and research experience in the field of Civil Engineering, with a strong focus on sustainable construction materials and concrete technology. My research interests include sustainable and green concrete technologies, geopolymer and alkali-activated materials for reducing cement consumption and carbon emissions, and the utilisation of non-biodegradable waste materials, including e-waste, in concrete for sustainable infrastructure development.

I have successfully guided three Ph.D. scholars to completion and currently supervise six Ph.D. scholars, one M.Tech. student, and six B.Tech. students working on research projects related to sustainable concrete and innovative construction materials. I am also keenly interested in mentoring industry-oriented and applied research projects that address real-world challenges and promote sustainable engineering solutions.

At present, I serve as the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) Coordinator, actively promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, start-up culture, and interdisciplinary applied research initiatives within the institution. Additionally, from March 2025 to March 2026, I served as Assistant Director – Innovation & Incubation, contributing to the development of innovation and incubation activities at the institutional level.
