Dr. Saurodeep Chatterjee

As an Assistant Professor of Geology in Manipal Institute of Technology, Dr. Saurodep is actively engaged in postgraduate teaching across a wide range of geology and geophysics courses, including Structural Geology and Tectonics, Geophysics, Ore Geology, Exploration Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology, Indian Geology, and Geo-exploration. In addition to classroom instruction and laboratory training, you lead funded research projects as Principal Investigator, particularly in the fields of tectonics, rock magnetism, magnetic anisotropy, environmental magnetism, and Himalayan geology. Dr. Saurodeep currently supervise multiple Ph.D. scholars and postgraduate dissertations, guiding research on magnetic fabrics, environmental magnetism, landslide hazards, and tectonic evolution. His responsibilities also include academic administration and institutional service as Departmental Ambassador for the Institution Innovation Council, Geology Alumni and Placement Coordinator, NAAC departmental committee member, and Swayam/NPTEL Coordinator. Furthermore, you contribute to the academic reputation of MIT through research publications, peer review activities for international journals, organization of conferences and seminars, student mentoring, curriculum delivery, and fostering industry-academia and research collaborations.
