Current Academic Role & Responsibilities
I am actively involved in academic teaching, practical laboratory training, and student mentoring in the field of Culinary Arts with specialized expertise in Pastry and Bakery, where I focus on imparting industry-oriented knowledge, advanced pastry production techniques, artisanal baking skills, plated desserts, confectionery preparations, and contemporary global culinary trends. With extensive international industry exposure as an Executive Pastry Chef, I integrate professional operational standards into classroom and laboratory teaching to bridge the gap between academia and hospitality industry expectations.
I actively supervise and guide students in commercial food production and restaurant operations through the WGSHA Café, a student-run café operated under faculty guidance, where students gain hands-on exposure to real-time hospitality operations, customer service, menu planning, bakery production, inventory management, and food cost control. I also mentor students during institutional food festivals, culinary events, and hospitality-based experiential learning activities, encouraging innovation, teamwork, and entrepreneurial skills in pastry and bakery arts. In addition, I guide undergraduate students in short-term research projects, case study presentations, and practical assignments related to culinary arts, bakery science, hospitality operations, and emerging food trends, helping them develop analytical, technical, and presentation skills essential for the hospitality industry.
Apart from academic responsibilities, I serve as a Teacher Guardian for undergraduate students, extending continuous academic and personal mentorship beyond classroom learning. I am committed to supporting students in their professional development, career guidance, skill enhancement, and overall well-being throughout their academic journey. I actively contribute to departmental and institutional academic activities including workshops, training sessions, student engagement programs, academic coordination, curriculum enrichment initiatives, and interdisciplinary hospitality events. My areas of expertise and research interest primarily focus on pastry and bakery innovation, development of new bakery recipes, and preparation of high-end desserts and artisanal pastry products
