Current Academic Role & Responsibilities
Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Genetics, Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal. Responsible for postgraduate teaching, research supervision, and development of cellular and Drosophila models for rare genetic disorders, ciliopathies and skeletal dysplasias.
Teaches cell, molecular and developmental biology, genetics, epigenetics and chromatin biology, and molecular analysis techniques to MSc Genetic Counseling, DM Medical Genetics and pre-doctoral students. Supervises PhD scholars, junior research fellows and master's dissertation students, and serves as departmental PhD programme coordinator and coordinator for short-term training courses in Medical Genetics.
Leads funded research projects such as those supported by ICMR and ANRF, contributes to departmental quality documentation and research laboratory/equipment management, and has developed mammalian cell culture and Drosophila culture/manipulation facilities in the department.
