Current Academic Role & Responsibilities
is a highly motivated academician and accomplished researcher with nearly two decades of distinguished service in higher education and advanced materials research. With profound expertise in experimental physics, his research interests encompass advanced functional materials, nonlinear optics, thin-film technology, printed electronics, and smart sensing systems. His work is particularly focused on the development of innovative materials and device architectures for next-generation photonic and sensing applications. As a Principal Investigator, he has successfully led several high-impact, government-funded research projects, securing more than ₹80 lakhs in external and institutional research grants.
Among his major accomplishments is a prestigious ₹50 lakh SERB-DST sponsored project centered on the development of printable ultralow-level gas sensors based on reduced graphene/metal oxide composites. He has also undertaken specialized research projects funded by the Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS-DAE) and the Vision Group on Science and Technology (VGST), Government of Karnataka. In recognition of his outstanding scientific contributions, he has received several prestigious honors, including the “DAE Young Scientist Research Award” from DAE-BRNS, Government of India, and the “SMYSR Award (Seed Money to Young Scientist for Research)” from the VGST, Government of Karnataka. His consistent excellence in research has also been acknowledged by his institution through the “Best Researcher Award” from the Manipal Institute of Technology.
Most recently, he was honored with the “MAHE Award for Research Excellence (Overall Researcher)” under the Faculty of Technology & Science at the MAHE Research Awards Ceremony. Beyond his research accolades, he is deeply committed to academic excellence, student mentorship, and research supervision. He actively guides undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students, fostering a culture of scientific curiosity, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. In addition, he serves diligently as a proactive Teacher-Guardian, demonstrating exceptional dedication toward student welfare, holistic development, and academic guidance.
