Encourages active, student-centered learning through group discussions, case-based teaching, and problem-solving approaches in clinical microbiology. Utilizes laboratory demonstrations and audiovisual aids to enhance understanding. Conducts practical demonstrations and skill-based training for MBBS students, including specimen collection, staining techniques, culture methods, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and interpretation of microbiological results. Actively participates in setting theory and practical examination papers, invigilation duties, and conducting viva voce and objective structured practical examinations.

Guides postgraduate students in seminars, journal clubs, and research activities with emphasis on clinical microbiology, antimicrobial resistance, and advances in diagnostic techniques. Serves as a recognized guide for postgraduate thesis, mentoring students in research design, laboratory procedures, data analysis, and scientific writing. Actively engaged in research in areas such as anaerobic bacteriology and antimicrobial resistance, and regularly updates knowledge through participation in CMEs, workshops, conferences, and faculty development programs. Functions as a teacher–guardian for undergraduate students, providing academic and personal mentoring beyond the classroom.

Guides undergraduate students in short-term research projects, case presentations, and scientific presentations. Contributes to laboratory services, lab accreditation processes, and quality assurance programs, integrating service with teaching and research. Serves as the Department Coordinator for LMS Brightspace and SLCM, and is actively involved as the MBBS Curriculum Coordinator (2026). Actively involved in competency-based medical education (CBME) implementation, and departmental as well as institutional academic activities.
