Dr. Melita Sheilini

Currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Medical Surgical Nursing Department at Manipal College of Nursing under Manipal Academy of Higher Education since March 2024. My academic responsibilities encompass teaching undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and Nurse Practitioner students in subjects such as Advanced Health Nursing, Advanced Pathophysiology, Research, and Evidence-Based Practice. I supervise UG, PG, and NP students during clinical postings and actively mentors postgraduate students in research projects, thesis work, and seminar presentations. Involved in academic administration through setting question papers, invigilation of theory examinations, and conducting practical examinations.

As a certified BLS and ACLS course provider for the simulation center, I also contribute to the skill-based training programs. My research interests focus on cardiovascular diseases and non-communicable diseases, and keeps continually updating my professional knowledge through participation in continuing nursing education programs, workshops, and conferences at international, national, and state levels. In addition, I serve as a teacher guardian for undergraduate students, providing academic and personal support beyond the classroom. Actively contribute to departmental and institutional academic activities and functions as an Internal Auditor for the Integrated Management System and Academic Audit processes.
