Dr. Mahabaleshwara Rao

Oversees the administration, organization, and operational management of the library, ensuring efficient service delivery and user satisfaction. Manages subscriptions to print and electronic resources, including journals, e-journals, databases, and other digital resources essential to the academic community. Responsible for updating and maintaining the library website and digital platforms, including the Stack Digital Library Platform, while coordinating the implementation and administration of library automation and digital resource systems. The role also includes identifying, evaluating, and acquiring new online databases to support the evolving needs of the health sciences community.
Actively supports students, faculty, and researchers by facilitating access to relevant scientific and academic information. Provides assistance with literature searches, enhances resource discovery, and coordinates interlibrary loan services to extend access beyond the local collection. Prepares and analyzes statistical reports on library usage to support data-driven decision-making and continuously improves services through comprehensive knowledge of the library’s collections.
Organizes and manages academic activities such as seminars, assessments, and examinations. Contributes to curriculum design and revision for the Master of Library and Information Science (M.Lib.I.Sc.) program and mentors research scholars by guiding doctoral candidates and supervising postgraduate dissertations. Engages in scholarly research with publications in reputed indexed journals, including Scopus-indexed titles, and presents at national and international conferences while delivering invited lectures. Also organizes national conferences, workshops, and information literacy programs, and leads digital library initiatives aimed at improving resource accessibility, integration, and overall user experience.
