Dr. Jinu K Varghese

I am an innovative Visual Communication Scholar and Educator with 8 years of teaching experience and specialized doctoral research at the intersection of technology and visual culture. I hold deep expertise in AI-Generated Visual Media and ethics, backed by multiple Q1 Scopus-indexed publications and global recognition through the AIEOU (Oxford), IAMCR, ICA, and AIES conferences. I currently teach MA and BA courses in AI for Content Creation, AI Media Application, cultural studies, film studies, photography, digital ethnography, film making, film theory, aesthetics, and related subjects at Manipal Institute of Communication, MAHE. As a proven academic leader, I successfully managed a department as Head of Department (HOD), led curriculum redesign across BA & MA Multimedia, Cinema, and Television programmes, and managed a faculty of 25.

I am dedicated to fostering critical visual literacy and investigating the ethical and societal impact of Artificial Intelligence. I am also an active collaborator with Oxford University's AI in Education (AIEOU) initiative, developing pedagogical tools that enhance students' visual literacy with AI. My research has been presented at leading international conferences in Spain, the UK, Singapore, India, and Japan.
