Associate Professor
Dr. Harish H. T. is an accomplished academician, researcher, and library professional with more than 18 years of experience in library and information science education, academic librarianship, research support services, and digital knowledge management. He currently serves as Associate Professor and Librarian at the Department of Library and Information Science, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Bengaluru Campus. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence, scholarly communication, and the advancement of innovative library services in higher education.
Dr. Harish actively contributes to teaching, research, curriculum development, and professional training in the field of Library and Information Science. His teaching philosophy emphasizes student-centered learning, critical inquiry, collaborative engagement, and the application of emerging technologies in information environments. He encourages students to develop analytical thinking, research competencies, information literacy skills, and professional ethics through interactive learning experiences, group discussions, project-based activities, and research-oriented pedagogy. His teaching interests include Information Sources and Services, Digital Libraries, Library Automation, Information Retrieval Systems, Research Methodology, Scholarly Communication, Research Data Management, Open Science, Information Literacy, Knowledge Organization, and Artificial Intelligence Applications in Libraries.
His research interests encompass Digital Transformation of Academic Libraries, Library Automation and RFID Systems, Open Science Practices, Research Support Services, Research Data Management, Scholarly Communication, Altmetrics and Research Impact Assessment, Academic Publishing, Research Integrity, Information Behavior, Emerging Information Technologies, and the application of Artificial Intelligence in Library and Information Services. Dr. Harish has authored numerous research papers in reputed national and international journals, contributed book chapters and edited volumes, and actively participates in research, consultancy, and professional development initiatives. Through his academic leadership, research contributions, and commitment to innovation, he continues to advance the theory and practice of Library and Information Science while fostering excellence in teaching, learning, and scholarship.
