Currently serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Cardiology at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, and leads the AI Centre of Excellence in Health at MAHE. Teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students in cardiology through bedside clinical teaching, seminars, case discussions, journal clubs, lectures, and practical demonstrations. Conducts theory and practical examinations, prepares academic assessments, and actively participates in curriculum development and departmental academic activities. Mentors postgraduate students in thesis work, clinical research projects, presentations, and conference activities.

Actively involved in research in the fields of cardiovascular medicine, artificial intelligence in healthcare, medical imaging, and machine learning applications in cardiology. Leads and collaborates on multidisciplinary research projects involving deep learning, medical image analysis, clinical risk prediction, and healthcare AI systems. Has guided students and research assistants in projects related to AI, data science, and translational healthcare research, and regularly updates academic and research knowledge through conferences, workshops, collaborative initiatives, and continuing medical education programs.

Serves as a mentor and facilitator for students, encouraging interdisciplinary learning, innovation, and research-oriented thinking. Plays an active role in institutional academic initiatives, faculty development activities, and collaborative programs involving medicine, engineering, and artificial intelligence. Contributes to the development of AI-focused academic and research ecosystems within the institution and supports students and young researchers in academic growth, career development, and scientific communication.
