Current Academic Role & Responsibilities
She has research interests in environmental biotechnology and green synthesis. She secured a grant of 3.4 million INR, from DBT, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt of India, to work on microbial production of biopolymer using oil refinery waste. She has published several research papers in peer-reviewed journals and also couple of patents for her credit. Her current research interests include the Production of Microbial Polymers/bioplastics, the role of microorganisms in the production of value-added products by biotransformation, bioremediation of toxic compounds released in the environment, and valorisation of waste and her expertise also involved in medical research in specifically RNA as therapeutics one is ‘probing micro- RNAs to the metabolic disorders’ and another ‘use of siRNA as antiviral therapeutic agents’.
She is supervising several doctoral, postgraduate, and undergraduate students in their short term research projects.
