Current Academic Role & Responsibilities
Teaches and trains BTech, MSc, and PhD students and guides them in their research. Conducts research in high-energy astrophysics. Has overall responsibility for overseeing all research activities at MCNS, initiating steps to enhance ongoing research at MCNS, and exploring new collaborations within and outside MAHE that can be linked to MCNS research programmes. Takes the lead role in setting up new courses, revising syllabi, and establishing laboratories.
Actively involved in the centre's other academic activities. Member of ISRO’s Space Science Roadmap Formulation (SSRF) program, the Science Working Group (SWG) of India’s first space-based X-ray polarimetry mission, “XPoSat”, and he XpoSat Time Allocation Committee (XTAC). Coordinator of the IUCAA Centre for Astronomy Research and Development (ICARD) at MCNS, and a visiting associate of IUCAA. Member of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) and a life member of the Astronomical Society of India.
