Current Academic Role & Responsibilities
Research & Teaching Expertise At Manipal School of Life Sciences (MSLS), Dr. Dehury plays a pivotal role in bridging experimental biology with computational analysis through state-of-the-art machine learning techniques applied to single-cell genomics, spatial transcriptomics, and metagenomics. He is also responsible for teaching structural bioinformatics, molecular modelling, and simulations at both the undergraduate and master’s levels. Beyond the classroom, Dr. Dehury also mentor students in hands-on laboratory sessions and computational projects, ensuring that graduates gain proficiency in drug design, metagenomics, and the interpretation of high-throughput genomics data relevant to modern life science research.
Research & Collaborative Leadership In addition to academic instruction, Dr. Dehury is actively engaged in interdisciplinary research, collaborating with molecular biologists, biochemists, and clinicians within the university as well as with reputed institutes across the globe. In addition, other responsibilities include securing extramural funding, publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals, and supervising doctoral research in areas such as AI/ML-driven drug discovery, single-cell genomics, personalized medicine, and systems biology.
Administrative Roles & Student Development Furthermore, Dr. Dehury serves as an academic advisor and project guide, helping students translate theoretical knowledge into real-world applications. He also holds key administrative responsibilities as the Coursera Coordinator and Social Media Coordinator for the school. Through workshops, seminars, and industry partnerships, Dr. Dehury prepares students for careers in biotech, pharmaceuticals, and research institutes—upholding MSLS’s reputation as a center for integrative, technology-driven life sciences education.
