Dr. Ashok Jammigumpula

He is actively involved in undergraduate medical teaching and is eligible to guide MBBS students for their Short Term Studentship (STS) projects. He provides specialized clinical training to MD residents in neuromodulation (ECT, TMS, tDCS) during their dedicated one-month non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) posting. Additionally, he co-guides MD and MPhil (Clinical Psychology, Psychiatric Social Work) candidates for their academic thesis work. He also regularly guides MD residents in their routine academic presentations, including seminars, journal clubs, and case conferences.

He leverages the expertise gained during a comprehensive three-year clinical research fellowship in neuromodulation to drive active clinical research focused on non-invasive brain stimulation techniques. His work centers on translating these advanced modalities into effective clinical interventions for various psychiatric conditions. Additionally, his clinical and academic interests include the study of personality disorders and LGBTQ mental health.

He manages essential administrative duties for the department, specifically focusing on preparing and coordinating the clinical rotations for psychiatry postgraduates. He is actively involved in the department's ongoing assessment and examination processes. This includes setting question papers for the internal examinations of MD residents and regularly invigilating these exams. Additionally, he is responsible for maintaining the inventory of medical and research equipment within the department.
