Dr. Anne D'Souza

Serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Anatomy and as faculty in the Department of Medical Education at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. She is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, assessment, and mentoring in Anatomy, serving as a university examiner for MBBS and postgraduate programs, a postgraduate teacher, and a PhD guide. She is also an American Heart Association (AHA) certified instructor in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) at the university’s medical simulation center and actively conducts training programs for students and the public. Her additional institutional responsibilities include contributing to competency-based medical education initiatives, serving on the MBBS curriculum subcommittee and subject-specific board of studies, and chairing the Entrepreneurship and Consultancy Research Vertical at KMC.

Her academic interests span anatomy education, medical ethics, soft embalming techniques, cadaveric research, 3D printing, and technology-enhanced medical education. She has contributed extensively to medical education scholarship through curriculum innovation, the integration of 3D printing in anatomy teaching, and research on formaldehyde-free embalming methods for surgical and educational training. Dr Anne is actively engaged in international academic and editorial activities. She serves on the Editorial Board of BMC Medical Education and was Guest Editor for its special collection on “Medical Education in India,” while also reviewing for leading international journals in medical education and anatomy.

She is a FAIMER Fellow and an Associate Fellow of AMEE, regularly contributing as a reviewer, moderator, resource faculty, and presenter at international conferences. Beyond academia, she is the co-founder of Anjocadsoft Solution Pvt. Ltd., a startup supported by the Manipal-GOK Bioincubator, focused on developing innovative formaldehyde-free soft embalming solutions for cadaver preservation and surgical training.
