Dr. Aaditya Katyal

Currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, and actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching activities. Conducts bedside teaching sessions, simulation-based training, skill workshops, and case-based discussions. Actively promotes interactive learning through group discussions, simulation exercises, and hands-on procedural training. Involved in academic assessment activities including preparation of theory and practical examination questions, invigilation duties, and assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Guides postgraduate residents in seminars, journal clubs, research methodology, thesis work, and dissertation activities. Also mentors undergraduate students in research projects, presentations, and academic development. Serves as Domain Lead – Simulation Training and Co-coordinator of the Centre for Resuscitation, Acute Care and Simulation Training (CReST), contributing to the development and implementation of simulation-based medical education programs. Is a certified SimBegin (Laerdal) Level 1 & 2 trainer and actively involved in resuscitation, trauma, pediatric emergency, and procedural skills training programs.

Actively engaged in research activities in Emergency Medicine, trauma care, simulation-based education, and pediatric emergency medicine, with multiple national and international publications. Regularly updates academic and clinical knowledge by attending CMEs, workshops, faculty development programs, national and international conferences. Also participates actively in departmental and institutional academic activities, curriculum development, faculty training initiatives, and interdisciplinary educational programs.
