Department of Design (DOD), Manipal

Established in 2012, our Department of Design (DoD), was created with a sole purpose to advance design education. We offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs across Fashion Design, Interior Design, Product Design, and Fashion Management, combining artistic and scientific principles with technical knowledge.

We emphasise on practical, industry-oriented learning through design studios, textile and pattern-making labs, CAD & VR labs, model-making and laser-cutting facilities. With a strong focus on design thinking, sustainability, indigenous materials, innovation, and interdisciplinary learning, you work on real projects and portfolios evaluated by design professionals. Supported by international university networks, industry collaborations, and government-backed initiatives, we prepare future-ready designers to create meaningful products, spaces, experiences, and solutions for society.
