Where modern medicine meets Ayurveda, Siddha, and Yoga in research

Established in December 2015 under the Directorate of Research, MAHE, the Centre for Integrative Medicine and Research (CIMR) advances evidence-based integrative healthcare by bringing together modern medicine, Ayurveda, Siddha, and Yoga. CIMR integrates education, clinical practice, and interdisciplinary research, offering postgraduate, PhD, and certificate programs with a strong focus on holistic, patient-centred care.

Research spans diabetes, oncology, liver disease, urolithiasis, male infertility, lifestyle and metabolic disorders, mental health, and healthy ageing, alongside emerging areas such as EEG and Virtual Reality applications in Yoga and meditation. With 90+ research outputs, clinical collaborations, and access to MAHE’s multidisciplinary health sciences ecosystem, CIMR prepares students and researchers to advance scientifically validated, integrative approaches to health and wellbeing.

CIMR also actively seeks national and international research collaborations and grants, bringing together modern medicine practitioners, AYUSH experts, researchers, and PhD scholars to generate evidence for integrative healthcare.
