Where Pharmacy Meets Patient-Centred Practice

Pharmacy education in India has traditionally supported the nation’s need for affordable medicines. With growing globalisation, patient expectations, and the professional shift toward pharmaceutical care, the Pharmacy Council of India introduced the PharmD (Post Baccalaureate) program in 2008. Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS) was among the first to adopt this model, backed by faculty with international experience at leading universities and health centres in the USA and Canada. The program blends advanced coursework with clinical immersion, creating a platform that strengthens your transition from B Pharm to a practice-driven PharmD qualification.

You benefit from MCOPS’ partnership with Kasturba Hospital, a 2032-bedded multi-speciality centre where you train as part of interdisciplinary healthcare teams. This environment shapes your skills in clinical pharmacy, pharmacotherapy, and patient-centred care. With opportunities to intern in India and abroad, you gain global exposure while anchoring your professional growth in strong academic foundations. This program functions as a bridge between traditional B Pharm and regular PharmD by advancing professional skills and career options in clinical practice and research.
