Advanced Clinical Training in Interventional and Clinical Cardiology

The DM in Cardiology at Kasturba Medical College (KMC), MAHE, is a three-year fulltime superspeciality program that supports your progression into focused cardiology practice. You take part in structured academic sessions, bedside teaching, and supervised clinical work.

Training follows a do and learn approach, offering exposure to interventional and noninterventional cardiology. Progressive responsibility in clinical decisionmaking and procedures prepares you for independent cardiology practice in tertiary care settings.

Lab Work

Two advanced cardiac catheterization labs, intravascular ultrasound, advanced echocardiographic labs with 3D and strain-imaging capabilities.

Research Projects

Carry out research projects under the guidance of proficient faculty.

You support UG teaching while gaining training in audits, management, statistics, and health systems.

Program Eligibility

You must successfully complete MD/DNB in General Medicine, Paediatrics, or Respiratory Medicine from an institution recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC)/the erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI).

You must appear and qualify in NEET SS.

Continuation of Scholarship

The award of scholarship for the subsequent years will be the same as given at the time of admission in the first year.
The scholarship will be extended for the following years only to those students who qualify in the year-end examinations as per NMC (erstwhile MCI) / DCI guidelines.
Students who are promoted to next year with failures (F) / Incomplete (I) / Detention (DT) grades are NOT eligible for scholarship and MUST pay the full Program fee applicable for that academic year.
Scholarship will be forfeited in the instances of irregularity in attendance, proven charges of indiscipline, bringing disrepute to the Department / Institution / University, etc.

Withdrawal Policy

As the Institute / University does NOT have the provision to fill the vacant seat after the last date applicable for resignation as per DGHS / MCC timeline, if the scholar resigns/withdraws from the course, he / she MUST reimburse the total Program fee (all fee instalments) applicable for entire duration as per Prospectus 2025, received for the years of scholarship utilized, back to MAHE Manipal, before leaving the program.
