Established in the academic year 1953–54, soon after Kasturba Medical College, Manipal was founded in 1953, the Department of Anatomy introduced its postgraduate MD in Anatomy programme in 1977. The department plays a vital role in training undergraduate students through their early years of medicine, building the strong foundation on which their medical careers are built.
