Department of Anaesthesiology
The Department of Anaesthesiology at Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, under Manipal Academy of Higher Education, was established in 1955 at the Government Wenlock and Lady Goschen Hospitals under the leadership of Dr Hari Rao. The department introduced its Diploma programme in 1962 under Dr K. R. Kamath and commenced postgraduate master’s-level training in 1972 under Professor T. A. Koshy. Today, it provides perioperative, critical-care, resuscitation, and pain-management services across the Government Wenlock and Lady Goschen teaching-hospital setup, KMC Hospital Attavar, and KMC Hospital Ambedkar Circle.
