CURRENT ACADEMIC ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Ms. Harkiran Sehgal is currently a doctoral researcher at the African Centre for Transnational Criminal Justice, University of the Western Cape, South Africa. She is an LL.M. graduate (International Law and Global Governance) from Tilburg University, The Netherlands. She is working as an Assistant Professor of Law at Manipal Law School, Bengaluru, India. Prior to this, she was working as an Assistant Manager at Jindal Global Law School, OP Jindal Global University, India.

    Her major interest areas are International Criminal law and Human Rights Law. She has published a book chapter and co-authored a textbook on Media Law.

    Harkiran completed her internship at GICJ (Geneva International Centre for Justice), Switzerland, and was also working as a volunteer at ICDR international, United States. She holds an internship experience at NGO, Human Rights Commission, District Courts, and international intergovernmental treaty-based organizations.

    With an in-depth legal knowledge base and aptitude for legal research, she has acquired competencies in preparing and vetting legal drafts. She is a voracious reader of legal literature with a wide knowledge of legal rules, regulations, and Acts and is passionate about working in the field of human rights and international criminal law.
