The Manipal Centre for Virus Research was established on 1st May 2010 by upgrading the virology laboratory of the Department of Microbiology, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, to augment the diagnostic virology capacity and to enhance research activities at the University as well as to serve as a national facility.
