The Department of Library and Information Science was established on 1st August 2011 with the launch of B.L.I.Sc. (Bachelor of Library and Information Science) program. The department is situated at the Health Sciences Library of the University. Apart from the classroom learning, students are also given practical exposure. Manipal University libraries will be ‘working laboratories’ through which students are able to apply class room concepts through hands-on-training.
