International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) promotes the science of pharmacoeconomics (health economics) and outcomes research (the scientific discipline that evaluates the effect of health care interventions on patient well-being including clinical outcomes, economic outcomes, and patient-reported outcomes). They facilitate the translation of this research into useful information for healthcare decision-makers to ensure that society allocates scarce health care resources wisely, fairly and efficiently.

ISPOR encourages wide involvement in the field of pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research both internationally and at the local level. In supporting the formation of the ISPOR Chapters, ISPOR supports the orderly development of the discipline of pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research at the local level. A chapter may be a chapter of a city, a state or province, a country, or a region of a country.

MCOPS has formed the Karnataka state level branch subject to recognition by the ISPOR.
