The department is actively providing postnatal exercise programmes every week for the postnatal mothers admitted to the postnatal ward (D2) of Kasturba Hospital, Manipal.

The departmental faculty along with the postgraduate students and the department of child health nursing organises an annual workshop for health personnel based on the yearly theme during the newborn week.

The departmental faculty conduct continuing nursing education programmes (CNE) for the departmental staff every month

Outreach programmes

The departmental faculty along with the students conduct antenatal clinics in Rural Maternal and Child Welfare Centres of Udupi district and welfare programmes in Cynthia Memorial Palliative Care Centre, Kallianpur for the inmates of the centre suffering from end stage cancer ailments.
