Eligibility:

Citizenship: Indian nationals can apply under the General category. Foreign nationals or Non Resident Indians or Indian nationals supported by NRI relatives can apply under the Foreign/NRI category. Nurses from other countries must obtain an equivalence certificate from INC before admission.

Qualification: Pass in BSc/PB BSc Nursing/ GNM recognised by Indian Nursing Council and a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.

Experience: Applicants must have a minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse.

Admissions:

GENERAL /FOREIGN/NRI CATEGORY: Admissions are done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Candidates can apply either under General category or F/NRI category. Those submitting applications under both General and F/NRI categories will be considered only under the General category. Change of category at a later stage will not be entertained under any circumstances.

Merit List:

GENERAL CATEGORY: Based on the marks obtained at the qualifying examination, Manipal University will declare a list of candidates in the order of  merit on or before 17.07.2012 in the website.

FOREIGN/NRI CATEGORY: A separate merit list of the applicants under the F/NRI category will be prepared based on the marks obtained at the qualifying examination and those selected for admission will be informed separately.

Provide quality care to patients in specialty care areas.

Manage and supervise care of patients in specialty care areas.

Teach nurses, allied health professionals and family members in areas of specialty care.

Conduct research in areas of clinical nursing.

Course Description:

The course is designed to prepare registered nurse (GNM or B.Sc.) with specialized knowledge, skills and attitude in providing advanced quality care to patients requiring specialty nursing care.
