2. When do students get holidays during the academic year?
They have a total of seven weeks of vacation in an academic year which includes

Two weeks of vacation in December

Four weeks of annual vacation in June or July

Preparatory leave for exam- 7 to 10 days
Students are required to inform the Dean/ Associate Dean/ faculty in charge when they proceed on vacation or other leave and rejoin after leave.
3. What is the minimum requirement of attendance needed to appear for the examination?
Students will be allowed to appear in the annual examinations in the subjects in which they have-

80% of the total number of theory classes taken

80% attendance in the clinical experience hours in the clinical subjects

The remaining 20% of the clinical experience hours must be compensated before starting the next academic year
4.What is the visiting time for visitors in the hostel?
Students can receive their visitors in the visiting room from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on working days and on holidays any time between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
5.Can the students stay outside with parents during their visit?
If the student wants to stay out with authorised visitors, they need to get prior permission from the dean through the class-coordinators and also inform the hostel warden and hostel leader.
6.What are the timings to be followed by the students who stay in the hostel?

All students need to return to hostel before 7.30 p.m. after vacation. If students require to stay out beyond 7.30 p.m. they need to take permission from the dean and inform the hostel warden and hostel leader

All the students of MCON staying in Manipal University hostels need to give their attendance to their hostel leader at 10 p.m. They also need to give attendance at 7.15 a.m. before going for clinical postings
7.Are cell phones allowed in the college?
Students are not allowed to use cell phones in the college premises, during the class hours or during the clinical hours. If found, the cell phones will be confiscated. They are allowed to use it after the class or clinical hours.
8.What about the examination fees, is it collected during the academic fee payment or separately?
Examination fees are collected along with the academic fees. In case of failed candidates, they have to pay it separately before the examination for the subjects in which they have failed.
9.What are the healthcare facilities available for the students?
Students have the facility of Medicare and sick room, in case if they get admitted. If any student is sick, it must be brought to the notice of the hostel leader, faculty responsible for students’ welfare and through him/ her to the class coordinator/ teacher guardian.
