About the department:

The department of Maternity Nursing provides courses in Obstetrical and Gynaecological Nursing consisting of theoretical and practical elements. The subject is taught to undergraduate students in the 3rd and 4th years of their B.Sc Nursing Degree Course. We provide our graduates with qualifications and skills needed to go straight into the work place. We ensure effective and efficient services to our student community and enable them to function as educators, managers and researchers in the field of maternity nursing.

Laboratory facilities:

The department has a well-equipped laboratory with various mannequins that are designed to appreciate the concepts and principles of midwifery and obstetrical nursing. It helps them to acquire knowledge and skills in rendering nursing care to normal and high-risk pregnant women during antenatal, natal and postnatal period in hospitals and community settings.
