Melaka Manipal Medical College offers the medical education programme in a twinning mode under the auspices of the Manipal University (MU) leading to an MBBS degree. Students are admitted into the Melaka Manipal Medical College (MMMC) and initially placed in the Manipal Campus of MMMC in Manipal, India. After successfully completing two and half years in Manipal, they return to Melaka to complete their clinical training at the Melaka campus of MMMC. The graduates are conferred with an MBBS degree of the Manipal University, India.

The mission of Melaka Manipal Medical College is to prepare the students in knowledge, skills and attitudes required for the humanitarian and altruistic practice of medicine.  This includes the development of an aptitude for lifelong learning, recognising that medical science is constantly and rapidly expanding and the health needs of communities are constantly changing.

The college and its staff will also contribute to the health needs of the local community through involvement in health services provided at the affiliated clinical institutions. The college will further promote excellence in healthcare through  research  and postgraduate training.
