  • Any resolution for an amendment to the constitution of the student council shall have the approval of at least two-thirds majority of the existing student council and then the faculty council.

     

  • The amendment shall then be approved by two-thirds majority of each of the next two consecutive student councils.

     

  • If any of the next two consecutive student councils proposes a modification of the amendment, the amendment shall be modified accordingly and presented for approval to the faculty council and thereafter to two consecutive student councils.

     

  • An amendment that is totally rejected by the faculty council shall not be considered for another five terms of the student council.

     

  • The faculty council shall give the final approval of any amendment before it is be added to the constitution.

     

  • The faculty council may consider bypassing any of the by-laws pertaining to amendments, keeping in mind the higher academic interests of the institution and the programme.
