  • What type of rooms are all students given?
    On a twin-sharing basis, with an attached bathroom.
  • How are the toilet facilities in the hostel?
    Modern toilets and shower.
  • Is there facility for laundry?
    Yes. There is a fast, reasonable, and reliable door-to-door laundry service readily available.
  • Any facilities for ironing clothes?
    Yes, we have good personal laundry service.
  • What kind of laundry services is available?
    The laundry-person comes to your room, collects laundry and brings the clean and ironed clothes back to your room. It’s economical as well.
  • How about room cleaning service? 
    The University has regular cleaning service.
  • How about waste disposal from students' rooms? 
    There is a common dustbin available, where you can empty your dustbins.
  • Is there hot and cold water facility available?
    There is a cooler for cold water. For hot water, you may boil water as per your need, yourself. Solar heaters are installed for hot water requirements for bath etc.
  • What about cooking in the hostel room? 
    Cooking is not allowed, though you may boil water if required.
  • Is there a facility for drying clothes?
    Yes. There is an efficient laundry service available.
  • What are the pros and cons of staying outside? 
    Advantages: you can avail all hostel facilities and peer learning is better
    Disadvantages staying outside: 
    • frequent power cut
    • need a motor vehicle
    • not close to class
    • travel time involved
    • lack of interaction with other students.
  • Is a TV and fridge allowed in the hostel room?
    No. However TV is available in common rooms
  • How far is the hostel from classes and Manipal town? 
    The furthest hostel is a ten-minute walk away. All facilities are within walking distance.
  • Any security problems staying outside? 
    Although the area is generally safe, it is preferable if one stays in the hostel.
  • What is the deposit required when renting a room or house outside?
    A one-year rental is required as deposit for renting a room or house.
  • Is there an Official Tenancy Agreement?
    Yes.
  • Where can parents stay when they come to Manipal? 
    Yes. There are lot of hotels in different price ranges like Green Park, Valley View hotel, Lake View, Dynasty, Bhavani, Janani. On a twin-sharing basis, with an attached bathroom.
