Research is the backbone of the department activities. Every work is done with a research oriented approach (maintaining proper data of the patient, objective assessment, statistical evaluation etc.). Every attempt is made to achieve collaborative study of the problem, so as to give a scientific outlook to the work (the list of research projects already completed and the projects in progress now is attached separately. A list of scientific publications also attached separately). The trust areas identified for research are:

1. Screening and evaluation of medicinal plants for cancer, Heart ailments, Arthritis, Diabetes, Obesity, Allergic diseases, Psychiatric illness etc.
2. Research on fundamental principles of Ayurveda – The Tridosha theory.
3. Development and application of computers in Ayurveda.
4. Scientific evaluation of panchakarma therapy.
5. Screening and evaluation of Household/Folklore remedies.
