The KMC Student Council caters to the various interests of the students by providing them with opportunities to take their minds off the mundane curriculum of medical college. The Council helps in the overall development of an individual. Not only are students at razor’s edge to perform academically well, they are also exposed to various organisations and personality development skills. The Council is headed by the Dean of KMC and consists of President, Vice-President, General Secretary, Jt. Secretaries, Treasurer and secretaries of five committees viz., Cultural, Sports, Literary, Editorial and the Social Welfare. Round the year the Council organizes events like VERVE – inter-batch sports and cultural, the annual cultural extravaganza…. FLAVA, VIBES … annual literary fest.

Visits to the Orphanages and Old Age homes in Udupi by the members of the Social Welfare Committee, have widened their efforts to interact with the underprivileged. Another activity by SWC is the Annual Blood Donation Camp. SIGNUM VITALIS, the annual college magazine which reflects the students’ activities and achievements throughout the year, is compiled by the Editorial team. The Council also takes up several other small-scale projects at regular intervals, where the students get an opportunity to vent their creative energy. KMC Manipal has won the trophy for the 6th consecutive year since its inception at UTSAV – an inter-collegiate cultural fest organised by the Manipal University.
