CLINICAL ANAESTHESIA SERVICES

The department provides clinical anaesthesia services to all surgical specialties at Government Wenlock Hospital and Lady Goshen Hospital, KMC Hospital, Ambedkar Circle and KMC Hospital, Attavar. Pre-anaesthetic evaluation clinics examine and optimise patients prior to surgery. Anaesthesiologists are also actively involved in the management of patients in post-operative wards and in the Intensive Care Unit. The department also provides Out-Patient anaesthesia services in Pain and Palliative Therapy. Out of OT services like anaesthesia for MRI scans, dental chair anaesthesia, and epidural analgesia for painless labour and delivery are also provided at request from the respective clinical departments. A “hi-tech ambulance” manned by trained trauma and life support technologists transports critically-ill and trauma patients to the Accident and Emergency Centre, KMCH, Ambedkar Circle.
