ELIGIBILITY

CITIZENSHIP: Indian Nationals can apply under the General category. Foreign nationals or Non Resident Indians or Indian nationals supported by NRI relatives can apply under the Foreign/NRI category.

QUALIFICATION: MSc (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacology)The candidate must have passed BSc with atleast one subject of Biological Sciences or BAMS or MBBS or BHMS or BPT or BPharm or any other professional graduates from a recognized University. BSc graduates with Physics and Chemistry optionals, could be considered for admission to MSc Biochemistry course.

MARKS: Candidates must have obtained not less than 50% marks in aggregete at the qualifying examination.

ADMISSIONS

GENERAL CATEGORY: Admissions are done on the basis of merit in the  All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET)- 2012

FOREIGN/NRI CATEGORY: Admissions are done on the basis of marks obtained at the qualifying examination.

Candidates can apply either under General category or F/NRI category. Those submitting applications under both General and F/NRI categories will be considered only under General category. Change of category at a later stage will not be entertained under any circumstances. 

MU-OET 2012

There are 2 groups under this test:

GROUP I: Applicable to MSc (Medical) - Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology , Pharmacology and Clinical Embryology courses.

TEST PATTERN : Test duration -  2 hours and consists of 3 sections. The approximate distribution of questions is as follows: Section 1 - Zoology (100), Section 2 - Botany (100), Section 3 - Chemistry (100).Candidates should answer any 2 of the above 3 sections.The question paper is of multiple choice questions (MCQ) of the objective type, covering the syllabus of BSc level followed by major Indian Universities.

GROUP II: Applicable to MSc (Medical) - Biotechnology, Molecular Biology & Human Genetics, Clinical Virology and Regenerative Medicine courses.

TEST PATTERN:  Test duration - 2 hours and consists of 200 multiple choice questions (MCQ) of the objective type, covering the syllabus of BSc level followed by major Indian Universities. The approximate distribution of questions is as follows: Physics (40), Chemistry (40), Botany (40), Zoology (40) and Biochemistry (40).

MU-OET CENTRES

Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Ernakulam, Hyderabad , Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Lucknow,  Mangalore, Manipal, Mumbai, Noida, Patna, Pune.

SCHEDULE

The MU-OET will be held between 22.06.2012 & 29.06.2012.Candidates can select the test schedule of their choice in the Online Test Booking System.

MERIT LIST

GENERAL CATEGORY: Based on the marks obtained in MU-OET 2012, Manipal University will declare a list of candidates in the order of merit. Merit list will be displayed on or before 02.07.2012 in the website.

FOREIGN/NRI CATEGORY: A separate merit list of the applicants under the F/NRI category will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and those selected for admission will be informed separately.
